BLIND SPOT MONITORING
BSS is a complete Blind Spot Monitoring system designed to monitor one or both sides of the vehicle, withstand the harsh conditions on the road and be installed quickly and simply.
This advanced driver assistance system supports drivers in overtaking,turning corners and lane change manoeuvres to help avoid side collisions.
The BSS system is passive, there is no switch or button to turn the system on or off. The system powers up when the ignition is cycled on, at this time the system will perform a self check and display the system status on the LED display before activating the blind spot detection alerts (visual and/or audible).
Once active, the system constantly monitors the vehicle’s blind spots and warns of moving objects appearing in the vehicle’s side blind spots.
The 77 GHz microwave sensors are equipped with high speed specialised computing processors and are placed on the sides of the vehicle. Any moving object that is closer to the vehicle than 4.5 meters from the right and left sides and 32 meters behind the sensor will be detected. The processor will then calculate the speed of the object, the speed differences and the distance to the vehicle. The LED display will then indicate that there´s an object in this blind spot area, or signify that an object is moving fast from behind the vehicle and about to enter the blind area (Level 1 warning). The LED display will remain lit as long as the object remains in the blind spot, warning the vehicle driver of the current condition.
SENSORS
Utilises advanced 77GHz RFCMOS radio frequency technology. Due to the width of available frequencies, a move from 24GHz to 77GHz achieves 20x better performance in range resolution and accuracy. The range resolution of a 77GHz system is 4cm versus 75cm for 24GHz radar, allowing better detection of multiple objects that are close together.
This increased performance provides the ability to accurately detect smaller objects such as bicycles and pedestrians.

DISPLAY
Mounted on the dash within the driver's line of sight to maximise visibility for the driver, the display will light up whenever a vehicle is detected in a monitored blind spot.
If the turn indicator is activated and a pedestrian, or vehicle is detected in the turning blind spot, the display will flash red and the audible beeper will sound an alert.
The display contains an internal GPS module which provides the speed value to the system in order to switch between modes when 30 kph is exceeded.
SIMPLE INSTALLATION
BSIS Mounting Kit
The BSS system has been designed to be quick and simple to install. Extender cables are provided for the sensors and display to cater for almost all vehicle types. We do recommend the use of an auto electrician to ensure the cables are connected correctly and securely and do not compromise the vehicle's electrical system.
